Foodies will love the Festival Epicure, which offers the opportunity to taste the wares of 29 restaurants and wineries. Epicure is another of the many festivals that takes advantage of the Riverfront Festival Plaza’s fantastic riverside location. Celebrate the history of Windsor during the Olde Sandwich Towne festival, which honors the oldest European settlement in Canada. The three day event involves the whole community with historic tours, parades, fireworks, sidewalk and yard sales, and children’s activities. Sample the winners of the chili cook-off and the sandwich contest or check out the many street vendors’ wares.

The biggest of Windsor’s festivals is the Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival, which celebrates the national holidays of both Canada and the U.S. The festival hosts over a million visitors, and has historically offered the world’s largest fireworks display. The festival offers midway activities, boating races, and more during the five day run.
