Radisson Hotel Windsor

Often called the “City of Roses,” Windsor has earned a reputation as a green city, due to its many magnificent gardens and parks. Windsor’s most famed park is the Odette Sculpture Park, just a short stroll from the Radisson hotel. Often referred to as a “museum without walls,” the park showcases over 30 contemporary sculptures spread over its 3.5 kilometres. The park stretches along the river between the Art Gallery of Windsor and the city’s link to Detroit, Michigan, the Ambassador Bridge.

Also on the river and nearby the Radisson hotel are the gorgeous Dieppe Gardens, which have fantastic views of the Detroit River and Detroit skyline. These striking gardens are named for the members of the Essex-Kent Scottish regiment that were lost at the landing at Dieppe during World War II. The gardens contain memorials to many historic Canadian figures and events, interspersed among annual and perennial flowers.

Jackson Park, often described as Windsor’s most elegant park, offers flower gardens, expansive lawns, and brick-laid pathways. Tucked inside the park you’ll find the Queen Elizabeth II Gardens, a splendid collection of sunken gardens including flowers, stones, and reflecting pools. Jackson Park houses some of the most splendid of all the “Rose City’s” Gardens.

Willistead Park surrounds Willistead Manor, a grand turn-of-the-century mansion with 36 rooms. On the property you’ll find many unique species of trees, including a rare Shumard oak, several Kentucky coffee trees, Trees of Heaven, European Elms, and Windsor’s only Persimmon. Explore the grandeur of the manor house and take in the symmetry of a true English garden. Time your visit to enjoy the yearly arts and crafts show called “Art in the Park” which takes place on the grounds.
